Tam Biet, Vietnam

semi-overcast 80 °F

It is with a heavy heart that we leave the beautiful people and country of Vietnam. It has been a month that I will always remember in so many ways. Our medical experience was incredible, but that is only a part of what has made this such a memorable trip worth every penny I have spent. This is truly a fascinating place, and I have been enchanted since the day I arrived.
Now it is on to Siem Reap for a couple days and we head for Thailand on March 5th.

"Vietnam survives Louisianian Ambassadors"

For over three weeks now the Vietnamese people have endured the visit of Conrad Siggy Pencerhelm Williams IV and Kelly Wong. Williams' has been seen throughout the countryside terrifying innocent and cute children (as pictured on the reliable kellrad.com site). One Vietnamese teenager who encountered Williams running inexplicably throughout the streets in the nude while screaming- later Williams apologized for what he called "rebel yelling"- had this to say about the experience "It was horrible. Mr. Williams leg hair was everywhere. Thank God he ran fast."
Others tried to look away and then focus on the positive. Many felt that although Williams' terror might haunt their children for nights to come, that Kelli Wong's warm and graceful presence more than made up for Williams' antics. Despite the language barrier Ms. Wong has brought American phrases (that only she knows about) to the Vietnamese people like, "Holy Hannah." As the two depart the people of Vietnam will watch with mixed emotions.

I love your wit, Spencer. And I am embarassed that you remembered the "holy hannah" phrase...but I swear, some people say it! Maybe just me and my mom, but SOME people say it!
